You know that saying “The truth will set you free”? Sometimes your truth can set you on fire because the person you are speaking your truth to might not be in a place to receive that information. It could very well be their truth too, that they especially need to hear, but because of their fears, actually hearing what needs to be heard won’t ever get through. Until they are ready.

If you are like me and you are in a position where people invest a great deal of time, money and effort to work with you because you know stuff, then you might get carried away with the belief that you are really good at what you do, and then help those closest to you, because you know. They love you, they’d be happy for your assistance, virtual strangers seek it all the time, and because you love them, you won’t ask them to book a session through your website or fork out some money, you’ll help them for free.

Usually, after that thought, that’s when the fights start.

This has been my experience the last six years. Those moments in time when your words of wisdom, that are giant buckets of gold, mind, get chucked back in your face like you are some halfwit asking for a six pack of Coronas from the drive thru attendant at your local Maccas. When you finally realise that you aren’t going to be heard at all, and you want to assume the position in the picture up there and scream those words and the redundant miner standing in front of you.

At the end of the day, your truth (knowledge, experience, point of reference) can get you into a shit load of lava pluming out of a volcano because someone flicked the “you don’t know better than I do, I need to hold onto my story just like it’s my binky… MY BINKY!”

So this is where I’d love you to click on the go button and have a listen to my SoundCloud Podcast for this week.
