MEN-toring - Amanda Foy

Much is being spoken about men’s health now, particularly when it comes to mental health.

Suicide rates going through the roof.

The incidents of narcissism are increasing.

Domestic violence is more in the spot light.

There’s a very vocal sisterhood that sometimes sounds like it’s saying “all men suck”.

The media is chocker-block full of images and dialogue about who men are supposed to be.

There’s battle speak all the time.

The world is getting angrier and there’s no outlet.

It takes a village to raise a child, and part of that village requires quality male role models who are showcasing what the healed masculine looks like.

What the #$%^ is the healed masculine? Maybe we should start with the wounded masculine.

This isn’t about a man not knowing who he is, what he’s supposed to do, what he’s allowed to do, what price he must pay for decisions made when he was younger. It’s about the imbalance of the divine masculine and feminine. {Cue unicorn sounds and glitter}.

The wounded masculine learns early in life to suppress pain. She’ll be right mate. Head on into the man cave. What happens is the record player starts to go full tilt of the same old same old, then builds and builds and builds until the energy has got nowhere to go but BOOM.

There’s neuroscience to back that up with brain chemistry and how it hits self-destruct.
